Find the likely cause of a failed file, unexpected size, missing transparency, or unclear privacy route.

Choosing a file and tool

Which image formats can I use?
Support depends on the page. JPG to PNG accepts JPG. Image to WebP accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP. Background and editing tools list their accepted formats beside the file selector. Renaming an extension does not convert the file.
Should I crop or resize first?
Crop first when you need to remove part of the scene or set a new composition. Resize after the frame is correct so the remaining pixels are scaled once.
Can converting a JPG create transparency?
No. PNG can store transparent pixels, but a JPG source contains an opaque image. Use Remove Background when you need a cutout.

Understanding the result

Why is my PNG larger than the JPG?
That is common for photographs. JPG discards image information to reduce size, while PNG stores the visible pixels with lossless compression. Convert only when PNG is required or its properties suit the task.
Why did WebP not become smaller?
The source may already be efficiently compressed, the quality may be high, or the picture may contain detail that is expensive to encode. Try a modest quality reduction and compare the visible result before choosing the smaller file.
Does resizing improve a blurry image?
Reducing dimensions can make some defects less obvious at display size, but resizing cannot restore detail that is missing from the source. Enlarging usually makes the limitation easier to see.
Where did the camera metadata go?
Browser canvas exports often create a new file without the original EXIF and location fields. Keep the untouched source if metadata matters.

Privacy and file handling

Are my images uploaded?
Crop, resize, JPG to PNG, and Image to WebP are designed to work locally in the browser. Automated background removal can require a remote processor after you start that operation. Read File Security and the Privacy Policy for the route.
Can I process an identity document?
Avoid public image tools for unredacted identity, financial, medical, legal, or confidential records. Use a controlled workflow approved for that material. Remove information the task does not need before any remote processing.

Troubleshooting

The image does not open. What should I check?
Confirm the file type is supported, the file is within the stated size and megapixel limits, and it opens normally outside the browser. Then try a current browser with enough free memory. A damaged file may need to be exported again from its original application.
The download button does nothing.
Allow downloads for the site, wait for processing to finish, and avoid closing or reloading the tab before saving. On a shared or managed device, browser policy may block generated downloads.
How should I report a repeatable error?
Send the page address, browser, operating system, source format, approximate dimensions and size, the settings chosen, and the visible error. Do not send a sensitive source image.
